Precision Medical Tubing Extruder
Single Screw Extruders
Precision medical tubing extruders produce tubing with closely controlled diameters and cut lengths, which is important for catheters and other medical tubes. The extruder’s screw is driven by a servo motor and gearbox, which keep the material moving steadily through the clean barrel as it melts and continues toward the tubing die. The formed tube is then vacuum-sized and cooled, pulled at a steady speed by the servo haul-off, measured continuously by an online tubing diameter measurement system, and cut to the specified length.

Features
- These precision extruders produce a range of standard medical tubing and use an online tubing diameter measurement system to monitor the outer diameter in real time, automatically correcting deviations to keep dimensional tolerances under control.
- They combine servo-driven operation with a clean barrel and rust-resistant surfaces for cleanroom use, while critical components can be made of stainless steel when required.
- Their purpose-designed medical screws and ±1°C temperature control prevent material degradation, resulting in smooth inner and outer tube surfaces without gel specks and fewer rejects during long production runs.
- Equipped with a Siemens PLC with three user access levels to prevent unauthorized operation or changes to production data, as well as alarms for overload, high or low temperatures, and abnormal extrusion pressure.
