Fluorocarbons and High Temperature Extrusion Line

Fluorocarbons and High Temperature Extrusion Line

Fluoropolymer and high-temperature engineering plastic extrusion lines are designed for the continuous production of precision rods and tubes from polymers that require demanding processing conditions. Inside the extruder, a motor and precision gearbox keep the screw turning at a steady speed, while heat from the barrel and the movement of the screw melt and mix the polymer evenly. After the die has shaped the rod or tube, it goes through a water tank to cool and harden before being drawn by the haul-off unit to the automatic cutter at a controlled speed.

Features
  • These extrusion lines use a directly coupled servo drive instead of belts or chains, reducing the risk of lubricant splashes and product contamination.
  • The flow paths in the screw and die are mirror-polished and degreased to prevent oil or residue from dripping onto the extruded product.
  • The screw, barrel, and die are made with Hastelloy C-276 because it withstands the high temperatures and corrosive conditions involved in fluoropolymer extrusion.
  • The extruder has multiple heating zones with precise temperature settings, while closed-loop control keeps the polymer evenly melted and the output stable.
  • Can be fitted with an online diameter measurement system that continuously measures the tube wall thickness and sends the data to the closed-loop control system for automatic correction.
  • Ultra-clean tubing configurations use high-precision screw, barrel, and die components imported from Germany. Their heat- and corrosion-resistant materials are suitable for Class 100 cleanroom production that must meet SEMI requirements.
  • Equipped with a Siemens PLC and touchscreen for process control, these extrusion lines synchronize speed and tension through servo drives to maintain continuous operation from material feeding to finished product output.
