HDPE duct extrusion lines convert high-density polyethylene pellets into ducts/pipes with a uniform cross-section in one continuous process. Inside the extruder, the motor and precision gearbox turn the screw, which carries the pellets through the heated barrel. While the screw moves the HDPE through the heated barrel, it also mixes the material until it is fully melted and uniform. The die forms the molten HDPE into a continuous pipe or duct shape, and the water tank cools it quickly until the material becomes solid. Once the finished product has cooled and hardened, the haul-off pulls it forward at a steady speed until it reaches the automatic cutter, which cuts it to the required length.
HDPE pipes or products made on these extrusion lines can carry ultra-high-purity fluids in:
- Semiconductor manufacturing
- Ultra-pure chemical processing
- LCD panel production
- Solar equipment manufacturing
- Our HDPE duct extrusion lines use a direct-drive servo motor to transfer power straight to the extruder without belts or chains that could splash lubricant near the pipe.
- The screw and die head have mirror-polished, degreased flow surfaces that protect the HDPE from oil and residue as it passes through the extruder.
- Precise closed-loop temperature control in several heating zones keeps the HDPE at the right temperature as it passes through the barrel, so the material melts and mixes evenly and the extrusion output remains steady.
- They can be equipped with a diameter measuring system to control the tube wall thickness throughout production and sends the readings to the closed-loop control, which adjusts the process automatically if the thickness begins to vary.
